When you think of Lake Hamana as an outing spot, you may think of lakeside leisure, but I would recommend the mountains at Lake Hamana.
A lake but a mountain? You may think so, but there are good mountains.
There are two mountains on the west coast of Lake Hamana, the Kosai Mountain Range, and the Oku-Hamana Nature Trail on the north coast.
There are several reasons to recommend this
①It’s not that expensive!
② Lots of maps and guides!
③Various courses are possible!
④It doesn’t have to be secluded!
The Kosai Mountain Range is a series of mountains with an altitude of around 400 meters, and the Okuhamana Nature Trail consists of mountains between 400 and 600 meters. All of these can be easily climbed on a day trip, so we see many people who have never climbed a mountain before or who go there to improve their health.
Since both courses involve mountain climbing, it is essential to do some research in advance and carry a map, but there are many information boards on site. It’s really reassuring to have information boards not only at junctions, but also telling you how many meters to go to encourage you when you’re tired.
For more information, please take a look at each hiking map posted on the website. I think you’ll notice how many trailheads there are and how many routes there are. Even if you aim to reach the top of one mountain, there are several routes you can choose from, and it’s fun just thinking about it in advance.

Both the Kosai Mountain Range and Okuhamana Nature Trail have bus stops and Tenryu Hamanako Railway stations near the trailheads, making them easy to access even if you don’t have a private car. You can also enjoy routes that don’t have the same entrance and exit!
How do you like it?
Being able to enjoy a bird’s-eye view of Lake Hamana from above is a privilege for those who have walked the Kosai Mountain Range or the Okuhamana Nature Trail.
When you think of Lake Hamana, you may think of marine leisure, but there are also other attractions of Lake Hamana.
Why not try it out?

Hamamatsu City in Shizuoka Prefecture is well known as a multicultural city, offering a comfortable and welcoming environment for Muslim residents and visitors alike. The city is home to a wide variety of halal-friendly supermarkets and restaurants, allowing Muslims to enjoy daily life without worrying about dietary restrictions.
For example, “Al-Hakim Halal Mart,” located near a mosque, is a popular destination for Muslims from countries such as Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Pakistan. It offers not only halal food ingredients and ready-made meals but also clothing, toothbrushes, and other daily necessities, all halal-certified.
