Big tourist spots are fun, but lately, I find myself drawn to quieter places where time feels like it slows down.
The fall colors in Hamamatsu—it was exactly that kind of place. Peaceful, and just what my heart needed.
I came across some old stone walls, castle ruins, and soft fall colors reflected in the lake.
It made me stop and just take in how beautiful it all was.
It’s not a flashy kind of beauty, but the autumn landscapes here quietly resonate with the heart.
This time, I want to share my favorite spots in Hamamatsu, where I was truly captivated by the fall colors.

Tenryu Hamanako Railway opened in 1987 (Showa 62).
There are many cultural properties and recreational facilities around the route, and there are plenty of spots where you can enjoy the Hamamatsu/Lake Hamana area.

Go from Shinjohara to Tenryu Futamata! Enjoy a leisurely train journey using the Tenryu Hamanako Railway Free Ticket!
Tenryu Hamanako Railway is a third sector railway that connects Kakegawa Station to Shinjohara Station in Kosai City via Hamamatsu City.
There are a total of 39 stations. Enjoy the scenery from the train windows along the line and see the station building, which is a registered tangible cultural property of the country. Stores attached to station buildings are also popular.
