We visited one FRIT CAMP FIELD, located in Kanzanji, Chuo Ward, Hamamatsu City.

Set in a stunning location surrounded by the beautiful Lake Hamana and nearby mountains, this campsite offers a great experience for everyone—from first-time campers to seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

The view from the campsite

There are also a variety of activity spots nearby, making the campsite a great base for exploring the Kanzanji area to the fullest.

Let’s take a closer look at one FRIT CAMP FIELD!

What is one FRIT CAMP FIELD?

The owner of one FRIT CAMP FIELD, Mr. Fujita, used to run a company in the automotive industry.

Inspired by the idea of not just buying and selling kitchen cars but putting one to use himself, he opened a mobile shop specializing in French fries called one FRIT in 2017.

Driven by a desire to share the beautiful Kanzanji area—centered around the scenic Lake Hamana—with more people, he began operating his business out of Kanzanji Onsen.

In 2022, he went a step further by opening a campsite just about 100 meters from the one FRIT French fry shop.

Named one FRIT CAMP FIELD, this campsite has been gaining attention as a popular spot for campers from all over Japan—from Hokkaido in the north to Kyushu in the south.

However, just as things were going well with both one FRIT and one FRIT CAMP FIELD, a torrential downpour in June 2023 caused a landslide on the hillside behind the French fry shop, completely destroying the building.

Driven by the desire to revive the original French fry shop one FRIT, they reopened a new store within the campsite six months later.

Mr. Fujita’s vision for one FRIT CAMP FIELD is to create a place that goes beyond a typical campsite—where visitors can experience the unique nature, culture, and cuisine of the area and become fans of the Kanzanji region.

Features of one FRIT CAMP FIELD

one FRIT CAMP FIELD is located along Prefectural Route 320, the Inasa-Kanzanji Line.

Right in front of the campsite lies Lake Hamana, where you can enjoy stunning, picture-like views—especially at sunrise and sunset by the lakeside.

The French fry shop one FRIT is also popular!

The French fry shop one FRIT, located within one FRIT CAMP FIELD, embraces the concept of a “food culture starting from one.”

They focus on carefully selected domestic potatoes and sweet potatoes to create and sell their original French fries.

A key highlight is that you can choose how your potatoes are cut.

You can choose from several cuts, ranging from the classic crispy style to thicker, skin-on wedges, as well as unique options like “Ami-jaga.”

You can also customize the seasoning to your liking!

You can enjoy your fries with over a dozen types of salt seasonings, such as Nori Shio, Shrimp Garlic, and Herb Salt, or choose from dips like Mentaiko Mayo and Honey Mustard to suit your taste.

If you’re unsure which to choose among the many options, we recommend asking the staff for their most popular flavors!

Chosen dips: Mascarpone and Mentaiko Mayo! The sweet potato fries are tender and naturally sweet, while the regular fries have a mild, satisfying sweetness.

With so many ways to cut your fries and a wide variety of sauces, you’re sure to find your perfect flavor!

There’s an eat-in space next to the shop where pets are also welcome.
