The Kite-Flying Battle begins with the First Kite—a kite flown in honor of the birth of a family’s firstborn—then unfolds into a grand string-cutting fight, the main highlight of the festival. In the evening, dazzling palace floats from each district are lit up and beautifully emerge in the dusk like bands of light.
