Shizuoka University-Takayanagi Memorial Hall

  • Culture
This museum follows the journey of Kenjiro Takayanagi, an engineer who was known as "the father of Japanese television." In 1926, with the use of a cathode ray tube to display electrical signals, he successfully transmitted a picture of the Japanese katakana character (ィ) on a TV set.
