Taste the Best in Japanese Fruits at Hamamatsu Fruit Park Tokinosumika

Fun with Fruit for All Ages

Nestled in the foothills of Hamamatsu, Hamamatsu Fruit Park Tokinosumika offers activities and attractions dedicated to delicious fruit, nature, and relaxation. With its beautiful surroundings and engaging experiences, the park is a popular choice for both locals and tourists, who can easily enjoy an all-day outing.

Fruit Available All Year Round

The primary attraction at Hamamatsu Fruit Park is fruit picking. Fifteen types of fruit grow on 120 different species of trees (some 4,300 trees in all) in the orchards, which means that fruits are bound to be in season any time of the year. You can pick a wide variety of fresh and juicy fruits, such as strawberries, cherries, peaches, grapes, and apples. This fun and easy activity is perfect for families, friends, and fruit enthusiasts who want to sample the best in Japanese fruit.

BBQ, Buffet, and Wood-Fired Kiln Pizza

If you have an appetite after picking all that fruit, you can find several options for food within the park. The covered Barbeque Garden allows you to grill vegetables and meats yourself, and it provides all the ingredients you could want, including delicious sausages. You don’t have to bring anything in or take anything back with you—very convenient! But if barbecuing is not your thing, Pelre, a large food hall, offers light meals and drinks on weekdays and a lunch buffet on weekends and holidays that features various Japanese, Chinese, and Western dishes, along with desserts, fruits, and a drink bar. There is also a separate Italian-style café serving up pasta and large pizzas cooked just outside in a wood-fired kiln oven.

Enjoy Glamping or Camping and a Relaxing Bath

For those hoping to extend their stay overnight and immerse themselves in the park’s lush surroundings, Hamamatsu Fruit Park offers camping and glamping. In the glamping area, spacious tents with proper beds and a fridge are already set up on sturdy wooden decks, and two meals are served as well—no need to pitch a tent or prepare your own food. But a tent site is also available if you do want to set up your own tent and prepare food or light a campfire.

Whether visiting on a day trip or spending the night, the park’s bath house, Biotope, is the perfect way to rejuvenate your tired legs after strolling around the sprawling 430,000-square-meter grounds. The bath water at this facility near the park entrance is highly carbonated, excellent for soothing the skin and relaxing the body.

Wine Made on Site

Hamamatsu Fruit Park even has its own winery and a wine shop called Tropical Wine Curve. Large windows in the back of the shop give a clear view of the small winery’s large steel tanks and other wine-making equipment. Enjoy free samples in the shop area, and peruse the product assortment, which includes not only the park’s own wine but also wine imported from the world’s major wine regions—a perfect pairing for a BBQ.

Numerous Activities to Enjoy

Numerous other activities are available for your enjoyment on the park grounds. A free road train made out to look like an old-fashioned steam locomotive shuttles guests between the park’s village area and the fruit orchards. Segways, Inmotion electric scooters, and unique bicycles are available to rent and ride in designated areas. For children, the Fruit Orchestra playground or inflatable playhouses and jumping mats can provide delightful entertainment. The park also has a soccer field with artificial grass and an outdoor stage for concerts and other performances.

Hamamatsu Fruit Park Tokinosumika offers a delightful blend of nature, activities, and culinary experiences. Whether it’s fruit picking, camping or glamping, cooking BBQ, sampling local wine, or playing on the fruit-themed playground, the park provides an enjoyable and memorable experience for visitors of all ages.
