Shosan Horinji Temple

This temple features a unique Chinese-style design derived from the Obaku School of Zen Buddhism. The worship site and head monk's residence have been designated as National Important Cultural Properties. Kinmeiseki is a stone believed to boost one's economic prosperity. When you strike the stone, it produces a clear, pristine sound. This old and famous temple is one of five that make up the Kohoku Gozan (Five Temples North of the Lake).
