I would like to take a break from my busy daily life and spend some relaxing time by the quiet lakeside.
For such people, we recommend “hamanako camp field Asoviva”, a stylish campsite that was created on the shores of Lake Hamana.
This time, we actually visited “hamanako camp field Asoviva” and asked about its charm and ways to enjoy it!
“Hamanako Camp Field Asoviva”, which opened in November 2023, is a stylish and private campsite built on the shores of Lake Hamana.
You can spend a relaxing moment enjoying the calm water surface of Lake Hamana and the beautiful sunset over the lake in an unobstructed landscape.
On the premises, there are 4 sets of container rooms, 2 sets of permanent tents, 6 sets of divided sites, and 2 sets of free sites. Because it is a relatively small campground, you can enjoy a relaxing and quiet time here.
This time, we asked Takehiro Watanabe of “hamanako camp field Asoviva” about the appeal of Asoviva and how to enjoy it.

Asoviva offers accommodation spaces of different styles, including container rooms, permanent tents, divided sites, and free sites, so you can spend your stay according to your wishes.
For example, if you are a beginner in outdoor activities, we recommend that you try camping in a container room where you can easily stay overnight.
The container room is equipped with a bed, refrigerator, and air conditioner, so you can spend a comfortable time as if you were staying in a hotel.
It’s a hotel-like space, but you can see Lake Hamana from the large windows.
As soon as you step out onto the terrace, you can feel the majestic nature with your whole body, making it the perfect lodging space for casual outdoor activities.
Next to the container room is this permanent tent site.
A bell-shaped tent from Nordisk, a Scandinavian outdoor brand, is installed on the wooden deck, allowing you to easily enjoy authentic tent camping.
Bedding and lighting are also included in the tent, so you don’t have to bring sleeping bags or anything, so it’s nice to be able to enjoy camping with less luggage.
The sites are spaciously divided, allowing you to enjoy authentic camping in your own way.
This is a space where you can enjoy the outdoors to your heart’s content by setting up your own tent and outdoor gear to create your own relaxing space, or enjoying a barbecue with family and friends.
Pets such as dogs are allowed on this site. Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy the outdoors and camping with their dog.
“We have prepared a variety of styles so that even people who are not used to the outdoors can easily enjoy camping,” says Watanabe.
“For example, we would be happy if even customers who stayed in a container room saw the Nordisk tent next door and thought, “Next time, I want to try staying in a tent!”
“Hamanako Camp Field Asoviva” is the result of Mr. Watanabe’s desire to “lower the hurdles for outdoor activities and camping so that more people can enjoy them”.
Not only for those who love camping, but also those who want to try camping for the first time! This is the perfect campsite for those who like this.
When I visited Asoviva for an interview, one thing that really caught my eye was this stylish hanging chair spot.
The pure white containers that spread from side to side cut out the landscape like a picture frame, and if you sit on the hanging chair installed in the center, you can enjoy the spectacular view of Lake Hamana all to yourself!
In the evening, the scenery of the lakeside bathed in the setting sun will soothe your soul.
When I turned my attention to the square in front of the hanging chair spot, I found equipment for a campfire.
“At the campfire at night, I often see guests interacting with each other around the fire,” says Watanabe.
Being a small campground, it also has a homey feel.
Asoviva’s stylish design can be felt everywhere, and it was actually designed by a designer who specializes in a variety of stores such as restaurants and salons, as well as new construction and remodeling of homes.
“Although it’s a campsite, we designed it with the idea that our guests would have a comfortable time. For example, we designed this toilet to be a comfortable space, similar to a cafe toilet,” says Watanabe.
Inside the toilet, a unique dinosaur paper holder welcomes you. It has a flush and heated toilet seat, so even women can use it easily.
When you think of a campsite, you may be concerned about toilets and water, but Asoviva also has a changing room and a shower booth with amenities (reservation required).
What’s more, the tap water in the kitchen provides hot water, so you can safely wash your hands and barbecue dishes in the winter.
In addition, small accessories and sweets are sold inside the retro bus where the reception desk is located.
Asoviva is also equipped with a tent sauna that can accommodate up to 3 to 4 people. We also recommend “getting in shape in the sauna” while enjoying camping in the midst of nature overlooking Lake Hamana.
“Of course you can enjoy authentic camping, but we would be happy if you could also use it as a casual lodging facility when you travel to Hamamatsu or Lake Hamana,” says Watanabe.
“Hamanako Camp Field Asoviva” is about a 5-minute drive from Kanzanji Temple, a tourist attraction in Hamamatsu, and has plenty of leisure facilities such as a zoo, amusement park, and marine sports on the lake.
Why not try a new travel style, enjoying sightseeing during the day and relaxing camping in the evening?

Experience the traditional craft “Hamamatsu Chuzome-some”, which has received the most attention in recent years!
On this day, Jenne came to the Nihashi Dye Factory in Tokiwa-cho, Chuo-ku, Hamamatsu City. I came here to experience the traditional technique of Hamamatsu chusensome. Have you ever heard of “chusensome”? For those who grew up in Hamamatsu, I want them to imagine the tenugui of the Hamamatsu Festival held every year during Golden Week. Tenugui with kite stamps from each town are dyed using a technique called chusensome.
The characteristic of this chusensome is that it has good breathability. Hamamatsu is a major producer of yukata, accounting for about half of the domestic market. If you have ever worn a Hamamatsu chusensome yukata, you will know that it is very comfortable to wear. It is also hand-washable and can be worn multiple times in one season. Another major feature of the production process is that multiple pieces can be dyed using a single pattern.
It is said that Hamamatsu’s chusensome began in the Taisho era. Hamamatsu, with its strong winds, was probably suitable for producing yukata. After the war, the textile industry flourished, and for a time it became known as the “Itohen Town,” but it declined over time. However, we are conducting this experience with the hope that young people will also learn about this traditional technique that has been passed down to this day.
“Hamamatsu Science Museum” is a spot near the station where you can enjoy learning science while having fun even in the rain.
Have you ever been looking for a spot close to Hamamatsu Station where you can have fun even on rainy days?
Hamamatsu Science Museum makes both of these possible. The museum is divided into zones of nature, force, sound, light, and space, where you can enjoy learning about science while having a variety of experiences.
Furthermore, in the planetarium, which was renovated in March 2022, you can view approximately 100 million stars. Science shows are also popular.
