“Grand Mercure Hamanako Resort & Spa” A luxurious all-inclusive accommodation

About 30 minutes by car west from Hamamatsu Station.

Grand Mercure Hamanako Resort & Spa is located in an excellent location close to Lake Hamana’s tourist attractions, such as Lake Hamana Garden Park and Takiya Fishing, where you can experience traditional fishing methods.

This hotel was rebranded and reopened in April 2024 as Grand Mercure, a premium brand developed by Accor, a hospitality group based in Paris, France.

The hotel’s concept is “Proudly Local – Pride in the local area,” and the interior is decorated with paintings featuring Kanzanji Onsen, a symbol of Lake Hamana, giving it a luxurious atmosphere.

Popular points include the magnificent view of Lake Hamana that spreads out before you, the buffet that uses local ingredients from Lake Hamana, and the much-talked-about all-inclusive resort.

This time recommendation is the Grand Mercure Hamanako Resort & Spa, surrounded by the lush nature of Lake Hamana.

Grand Mercure offers "#HanareTabi"

In April 2024, all 22 Grand Mercure and Mercure hotels across the country will be rebranded and reopened.

“Grand Mercure Hamanako Resort & Spa” is one of them.

We propose travel that allows you to experience the spectacular scenery, traditions, and culture unique to each region of Japan.

They view urban areas and tourist centers across Japan as our “main house,” and the lesser known, beautiful areas just a step away as our “detached houses.” We provide services that allow you to experience the charms of each region, such as breathtaking views rich in nature, traditions and culture rooted in the region, and interactions with the local people.

Located in the natural surroundings of Lake Hamana, “Grand Mercure Hamanako Resort & Spa” has been rebranded and reopened as a hotel that takes advantage of the blessings of Lake Hamana and welcomes guests with a superb location and delicious local ingredients.

An event to celebrate the first anniversary of the opening is planned for April 2025. For details, please see the official website of “Grand Mercure Hamanako Resort & Spa”.

No additional charge! The all-inclusive charm

Grand Mercure Hamanako Resort & Spa offers an all-inclusive.

The accommodation fee includes dinner, breakfast, drinks and snacks in the lounge, hot springs, activities, and more, so you can relax without worrying about additional fees.

Another great feature is that you can use the lounge and hot springs at the same time as check-in from 3 p.m., allowing you to use your time productively.

In the lounge on the first floor, you can enjoy soft drinks such as coffee and tea, as well as about four types of alcoholic beverages, including beer and sparkling wine.

From 9 p.m. in the lounge, the alcohol lineup changes completely from that which was served during the day, and whiskey, brandy, shochu, and other drinks are available, perfect for those who want to savor a little more of the relaxing time on their trip before going to bed.

The all-inclusive system, which allows you to enjoy as much as you like of whatever you like to your heart’s content, makes your trip even more enriching.

We asked the hotel staff about their recommended photogenic spots.

We recommend taking in the magnificent view of Lake Hamana from the top floor (13th floor).

The lake stretching into the distance and the clear sky are beautiful, allowing you to lose track of time and spend a relaxing time.

We also recommend enjoying the scenery at different times of the day.

During the day, you can enjoy the refreshing blue of the lake and sky, and in the evenings you can enjoy the impressive view of the lake bathed in red by the setting sun. Starting in April, it will open as the “Executive Lake View Lounge.”

The buffet-style meals are popular for their menu that makes use of local ingredients.

☆Dinner buffet☆

A dinner buffet where you can enjoy a wide variety of modern dishes that make use of ingredients and food culture unique to Lake Hamana.

The menu also includes local foods such as Hamamatsu gyoza and eel rice, so experiencing the local food culture is also part of the fun of traveling.

It is popular for its relaxing dining experience while taking in the magnificent view of Lake Hamana.

Desserts, which vary depending on the season, are also popular!

☆Breakfast buffet☆

The breakfast buffet offers such a wide selection that you’ll have a hard time deciding what to eat in the morning, including local dishes and pancakes that you can customize with your own toppings.

You can also enjoy local dishes such as Maisa

ka whitebait and Fujinomiya yakisoba. In addition to non-alcoholic drinks, sparkling wine is also available, making for a special start to your holiday.

Yuto Onsen, a private hot spring

The water quality of Yuto Onsen, a private hot spring that springs from about 500 meters underground, is a sodium-calcium-chloride spring.

It is generally believed to have a warming and relaxing effect on the body.

In addition to the open-air bath, the open-air area also has a reclining bath and a tub bath, so you can enjoy the hot springs to your liking.

The men’s bath is equipped with a dry sauna, and the women’s bath is equipped with a mist sauna.

After bathing, relax in the hot spring lounge. The large mural with a sunset motif is impressive.

The hot spring lounge offers local tea and vinegar drinks, so you can relax without worrying about time.

Executive Lake View Lounge opens on the top floor on April 1, 2025!

On April 1, 2025, the “Executive Lake View Lounge” will open on the top floor, offering a magnificent view of Lake Hamana.

The Executive Lake View Lounge is a special space available only to those who have booked an Executive Twin or any of the suite rooms.

Shirakura Gorge, a scenic spot in Hamamatsu with autumn leaves

This time, I went to Tatsuyamacho, Tenryu Ward, Hamamatsu City to see the autumn leaves.

Neither Jenne nor the staff knew much about Tatsuyama Town, so we asked Mr. Haseyama, who is in charge of the Hamamatsuyama Village Ikiiki Support Team Tatsuyama, to show us around.

The photo was taken in mid-November, when the trees were starting to change color, so I went to Shirakura Gorge because I wanted to take beautiful photos, including the autumn leaves.
