【2025 edition】Introducing cherry blossom viewing spots in the suburbs of Hamamatsu! Information on blooming, best time to visit, and events.

Cherry blossoms start blooming simultaneously with the arrival of spring. Usually, cherry blossoms bloom in late March at cherry blossom viewing spots near Hamamatsu.

As of March 25, 2025, blooming has been confirmed at various locations.

The best time to see them is scheduled for early April, and last year in 2024, they were in full bloom in various locations around April 5-7.

Hamamatsu Castle Park

Hamamatsu Castle Park was built on the site of Hamamatsu Castle, where Ieyasu Tokugawa lived for 17 years.

In spring, the park is filled with approximately 330 cherry trees in full bloom.

Many cherry blossom viewers from inside and outside the city visit this spot to enjoy the beauty of cherry blossoms both day and night!

Hamamatsu Flower Park

Hamamatsu Flower Park is a natural park with a vast area of seasonal flowers.

Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the park, which is decorated with colorful flowers and many varieties of cherry blossoms, from early bloomers to late bloomers.

Hamamatsu Fruit Park Tokinosumika

Hamamatsu Fruit Park Tokinosumika is a nature-filled leisure facility where visitors can enjoy fruit picking and glamping.

In spring, visitors can enjoy not only cherry blossoms but also plum, apricot, and almond flowers.

It is a popular spot for families as it has large playground equipment for small children to play on.

Okuyama Park

Okuyama Park, adjacent to Okuyama Hansobo Hokoji Temple, is a relatively secluded hanami spot in Hamamatsu City.

Approximately 1,000 Someiyoshino cherry trees bloom in and around the park.

Recommended for those who want to enjoy the quiet walking paths and lush scenery as they can relax and enjoy the cherry blossoms in the great outdoors.

Miyakoda River Cherry Blossom bank

Along the 1.5-km promenade along the Miyakoda River, about 300 Someiyoshino cherry trees are planted, creating a beautiful tunnel of cherry blossoms in spring.

Kaname Jingu Shrine

Kaname Jingu Shrine has a beautiful garden that skillfully utilizes nature.

There is a Genpei-shidare peach with three colors of flowers on one tree.In addition, mountain cherry blossoms and weeping cherry trees add beautiful colors.

Hongkoji Temple

Honko-ji Temple is an old temple with many historical buildings, including the main hall with a thatched roof built in the Muromachi period (1333-1573), the Okushoin, the gate, and the Daishoin, which were relocated in the early Edo period and are designated as national important cultural properties.

In spring, hundreds of cherry trees bloom in the precincts of the shrine, and the shrine is crowded every year with the “Cherry Blossom Festival.
