A morning market held once a month from April to July every year at Maisaka Fishing Port (Maisaka, Maisaka-cho, Nishi-ku, Hamamatsu City).
This year, following the interview on April 20th, the event is scheduled to be held from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18th, Saturday, June 15th, and Saturday, July 20th.
Although the sale of fresh whitebait caught that morning, which is a specialty of the “Enbai Morning Market,” was not held that day,
A wide variety of seafood products are sold, including fresh fish, clams, dried fish, raw seaweed, and eel, as well as side dishes, vegetables, and fruits.
“Enbai” is an old custom in which fishermen would take their catch home and share it with their neighbors and relatives.
As the name suggests, you can enjoy delicious ingredients and dishes from people involved with Maisaka Fishing Port.
Shopping is not the only way to enjoy Enbai Morning Market!
There is also a permanent tent set up at the venue where you can enjoy a variety of dishes made by locals, such as tempura and fries.

Enjoy sweet and delicious persimmon picking in Oidaira, Hamamatsu
This time, I went to Adachi Kakien, a sunny village in Hamakita Ward, Hamamatsu City, to experience persimmon picking, which starts in November.
Oidaira, Hamakita Ward, Hamamatsu City, is one of the leading persimmon producing areas in Japan, and the road to our arrival was covered in orange persimmons, which was very beautiful.
Hamamatsu City has some of the highest sunshine hours in the country, and is said to have very good conditions for growing delicious persimmons.
This was Jenne’s first experience picking persimmons, as the only places in the city that allow persimmon picking are Adachi Kakien and Hamamatsu Fruit Park.
