Now, let’s take a closer look at Otosuke no Sato Campground.

What is Otosuke no Sato Campground?

Otosuke no Sato Campground was originally used as a corporate retreat, and the current owner has reopened it as a campground.

The two-story log cabin cottages feature the warm charm of wood throughout, creating a soothing and relaxing atmosphere inside.

In front of the cottages, there’s a space where you can set up tents or tarps, perfect for enjoying a barbecue outdoors or simply relaxing in nature.

It’s a campground where everyone can enjoy their stay in their own way.

Many first-time campers visit Otosuke no Sato Campground, and with its limit of just five groups per day, guests can set up at their own pace without worrying about others.

Visitors often comment that even if it takes a little time to set up tents or tarps, they can still relax and fully enjoy their experience.

Plus, it’s a great spot even on rainy days!

The log cabin cottages come with covered decks, so you can enjoy your time regardless of the weather.

In the evening, you can enjoy the night view of Hamamatsu, adding a peaceful touch to your stay.

Otosuke no Sato Campground Highlights

Located in a spot with panoramic views of Lake Hamana, Otosuke no Sato Campground sits on approximately 1,100 tsubo (about 3,600 m²) of land and features a management building, cottages, and tent sites.

Let’s take a closer look at each of these.

Highlight 1: Cottage-Style Sites (Cottage + Tent)

Perfect for first-time campers!

At Otosuke no Sato Campground, the tent sites come with cottages, with bedrooms located on the second floor of the cottages.

Some guests use the space in different ways—for example, dads might sleep in the tent while moms and children sleep in the cottage.

The cottages are also well-equipped.

Let’s take a closer look inside these two-story cottages!

★Inside the Cottage

The first floor features a small kitchen, a Japanese-style room, and a unit bath.

The Japanese-style room showcases exposed logs, allowing you to enjoy the authentic log cabin atmosphere.

The small kitchen comes equipped with a microwave, electric kettle, mini fridge, and dish dryer.

Some rooms also provide kitchen utensils such as knives, plates, and frying pans, while others do not, so it’s a good idea to check in advance.

If a room doesn’t come with these items, some can be borrowed from the management building upon request.

You might also want to bring your own familiar cooking tools.

Upstairs, the second floor serves as the bedroom.

Because of the open ceiling, owner Mr. Horinochi advises keeping a close eye on young children to make sure they don’t fall.

Families with small children often choose to sleep in the Japanese-style room on the first floor.

The deck in front of the cottage provides direct access to the tent sites.

It also comes with a refrigerator, which can be used to store food for barbecues or other meals while staying at the tent site.

The deck has three clearly labeled trash bins for easy sorting.

Otosuke no Sato Campground is located in a natural setting.

Insect spray is provided at the entrance of each cottage, just in case.

There are a total of five tent site sections, but when guests are staying in the cottages, only certain sections are available for tent use, so it’s a good idea to confirm when making your reservation.

In this article, we introduced Otosuke no Sato Campground, located in Tsuzuki, Mikkabi-cho, Hamana Ward, Hamamatsu.

The campground was created by Mr. Horinochi, who has drawn on his many life experiences and his wish to share the beauty of Lake Hamana and the surrounding scenery with others.

As a thoughtful touch, guests staying in the cottages receive a bread gift to help with breakfast.

It’s a welcoming and comfortable campground, even for first-time campers, so we hope you’ll consider paying a visit.
