We would like to introduce the YATARO OUTLET STORE, a place filled with the wish to share the great products of this city with as many people as possible—and to have them enjoy them to the fullest.
This article was created on March 17, 2026.
We visited the YATARO OUTLET STORE located in Kaminishicho, Chuo Ward, Hamamatsu City.
This store is a relocated and renovated version of YATARO’s former factory direct shop.
Thanks to its factory-direct setup, the store offers a wide range of discounted breads and sweets, along with carefully selected products from local bakeries, farmers, and confectionery shops that showcase the best of “Hamamatsu’s delicious flavors.”
We would like to introduce the YATARO OUTLET STORE, a place filled with the wish to share the great products of this city with as many people as possible—and to have them enjoy them to the fullest.
YATARO is a food company founded in 1933 with the aim of delivering delicious bread to people.
The YATARO OUTLET STORE was relocated and renewed on April 24, 2025, and has quickly become a hugely popular destination, attracting many visitors every day.
Launched as a new expression of the idea of “living together with the community,” the YATARO OUTLET STORE features sales areas organized by theme.
1. Outlet Corner
The Outlet Corner features products such as by-products from the manufacturing process, including ends of Baumkuchen and roll cakes, as well as bread crusts.
It also offers irregularly shaped items, products close to their expiration dates, and surplus production items.

2. MY BAKERY PARK
Designed around the concept of a “daily bread festival,” this area brings together breads from local bakeries.

This reflects the store’s desire to promote the appeal of local food and contribute to a locally produced and locally consumed lifestyle.
Here, visitors can purchase bread from popular bakeries, and display panels introduce the people behind each exhibitor, helping customers feel closer to the makers.
It’s also fun to discover a favorite bakery while exploring the selection.
Please note that, due to delivery and collection schedules, the full selection of products is typically available around midday.
3. MY FAVORITE PARK
Next is an area featuring popular sweets collected from local confectionery shops and other stores.

To help convey the appeal of local products, signature items and seasonal goods from each shop are sold alongside store introduction panels.
It’s also nice that you can purchase popular items individually.

4. MY VEGETABLE PARK
This is an area lined with agricultural products carefully grown by local farmers.

There are plenty of delicious, fresh vegetables on offer. Non-standard vegetables are also sold at reasonable prices.
5. YOUR LIVE KITCHEN
At “YOUR LIVE KITCHEN,” where freshly baked goods are served right in front of you, visitors can see the lively kitchen in action, which is usually not open to the public.

When breads and sweets come out of the oven, a toasty aroma fills the space.
The store’s recommended item is financier.

This is an authentic financier made with Sicilian almond powder and Japanese fermented butter.
Its moist, soft texture creates a pleasantly rich flavor.
In this corner, where products are sold directly from the production line, “deliciousness” is offered at reasonable prices.
Limited-quantity choux à la crème and seasonal new items are also available.
With so many products lined up in the store, it can be hard to know what to choose.
To help with that, we asked store manager Mr. Naoya Manabe for his recommendations.
Recommended Item 1: Baumkuchen Trimmings
One of the most popular items at the YATARO OUTLET STORE is the “baumkuchen trimmings.”

These often sell out by the morning and are limited to three packs per household.
The YATARO Group produces a variety of baumkuchen, so you’ll only know which type of trimmings are available when you visit—part of the fun of shopping here.
A limited quantity is also available from 5:00 p.m., so be sure to check it out if you visit later in the day.
Recommended Item 2: Choux à la Crème
“Choux à la crème” is sold in limited quantities and at designated times.

A crispy choux pastry is filled with carefully made custard cream and fresh cream from Hokkaido.
It must be consumed on the same day.
Before sales begin, a sign indicating the queue is placed near the entrance, so please use it as a landmark.

Recommended Item 3: Pain de Mie
“Pain de mie” is a popular item even among YATARO staff.

By kneading yudane—made by mixing wheat flour with boiling water until it becomes paste-like—into the dough, the bread achieves a moist, fluffy, and chewy texture.
It is recommended to enjoy it toasted, as it becomes crispy on the outside and pleasantly chewy on the inside.

You can purchase even a single piece, so we encourage you to give it a try.

Popular sections from the former store are still available and can be enjoyed at the current location as well.
We have also expanded our sales area to include new sections such as “YOUR LIVE KITCHEN,” where freshly made delicious products are served, as well as corners featuring a selection of local specialties.
Through collaborations with other companies in the same industry as well as businesses from different fields, the YATARO OUTLET STORE is driven by a strong desire to contribute to creating energy and vitality in the local community.
We would be delighted if you could visit.
We have introduced the YATARO OUTLET STORE.
Even on the day of our visit, many customers were already lined up before opening.
However, since numbered tickets are distributed, the store appeared to manage entry smoothly without confusion.
You can check the entry numbers on a monitor at the entrance or on your smartphone, which makes the system very convenient.
The YATARO OUTLET STORE is filled with the “delicious flavors” of the local area.
We hope you’ll stop by and experience it for yourself!
