When you think of Lake Hamana as an outing spot, you may think of lakeside leisure, but I would recommend the mountains at Lake Hamana.

A lake but a mountain? You may think so, but there are good mountains.

There are two mountains on the west coast of Lake Hamana, the Kosai Mountain Range, and the Oku-Hamana Nature Trail on the north coast.

There are several reasons to recommend this

Southern Cross shopping street located south of Hamamatsu Station. It used to be a symbolic shopping street south of the station, full of life and bustle with people coming and going, but in recent years it has been in a condition that could be called a typical shuttered street. Three people from Hamamatsuya Yamorisha CON Co., Ltd. are working to restore the area’s former vibrancy once again. They continue to create projects to enliven the station south area, including the popular marche “Hamamatsu Southern Cross Hoshinoichi” where local artists and creators all want to open stores. To find out the driving force behind these activities, we spoke to Ms. Yumiko Suzuki of Hamamatsuya Yamorisha CON Co., Ltd.

When I entered Hamamatsu Science Museum Miraira after 4pm, there were many people waiting for something. There are no children there. Only adults of all ages were there. Everyone was glancing at the clock or at the reception desk, as if they were looking forward to something.

At 4:30, a science museum staff member came to guide us. I was waiting! Everyone lined up just like that. What on earth is there in a science museum that has so many adults lining up at a time like this?

In fact, the “Night Science Museum” started in July at Hamamatsu Science Museum Miraira. It is a night museum that is open to high school students and above once a month on the third Friday.

Chairman Ms. Tsukamoto looks at the wisteria flowers and says, “They’re so cute!”

Every year at Hamamatsu Flower Park, cherry blossoms and tulips herald the arrival of spring.

You can enjoy the luxurious scenery of 1,300 cherry blossoms and 500,000 tulips!

As of Wednesday, April 3, 2019, the cherry blossoms have bloomed for seven minutes since the cold weather this year, and the tulips are at their peak.

The weather forecast says it’s going to get warmer gradually, so the cherry blossoms are almost in full bloom!

It looks like we will be able to see the spectacular cherry blossom scenery from the weekend! Don’t miss it!

In addition to early-blooming tulips, late-blooming varieties are gradually blooming, and it’s fun to search for your favorite color and shape.
