Did you know Hamamatsu has many dog lovers? With so many dog owners, plenty of pet-friendly spots await. Here are some places to enjoy with your dog…
Did you know that Hamamatsu ranks first among the 20 largest cities in Japan in terms of the percentage of households that own a pet dog? Since there are many dog lovers, there are naturally many facilities that welcome dogs and other pets. This time, I would like to introduce spots around Hamamatsu and Lake Hamana where you can easily go and play with your dog.

This time we will be traveling with Mr. Iijima’s family who live in Hamamatsu City. My beloved dogs are Siberian Huskies “Ritaro-kun” (left) and “Kotaro-kun” (right).
Ritarou is a gentle and friendly dog who plays well with all dogs. He loves chasing other dogs at the dog park and digging holes.
Kotaro is a spoiled and lonely dog who gets angry and howls when his owner interacts with children. Even though he’s a Siberian Husky, he doesn’t really like walking and is sensitive to the cold.
By the way, both of them love bread.
The group’s first stop was “HAMA & WAN,” which has one of the largest dog fields in the prefecture (6,000 square meters). There is a dog field, a dog cafe, a pool, a pet hotel, and grooming facilities, making it the perfect environment for dogs and their owners.
*At HAMA&WAN, first-time visiting dogs are required to present proof of rabies and combination vaccinations.

As soon as the dogs entered the park, they sprinted around the field as if letting out their excitement. As expected, the physical strength of a young Siberian Husky is on a whole other level…

Next, we headed to our accommodation for the day, Aqua Pension Cuccetta. Located on the shores of Lake Hamana, this pension offers the best views and allows you to stay with your pet, as well as serving delicious food.
This time we will be staying in a seaside style room. You can relax with your dog on the balcony while looking out at Lake Hamana, and this room, which also has an open loft, can accommodate pets and up to 7 people.
In addition to the seaside style, Aqua Pension Cucchetta also has antique British style rooms, both of which are special spaces where you can enjoy an extraordinary experience with your dog.

In addition to the ones introduced here, there are many other facilities in Hamamatsu, the city of dog lovers, that welcome dogs. Why not take a trip to Hamamatsu and Lake Hamana to spend some special time with your dog, who is a good partner and family member for humans, and make some wonderful memories?
