Taking a tour and experience soy sauce straining can deepen your knowledge of soy sauce, one of the supporting pillars of Japanese food culture.
Meijiya Shoyu was founded in the 8th year of the Meiji era (1875), and its family recipe has been preserved and passed down for generations. It offers an experience tour which you can strain and make your own bottle of soy sauce after a tour of factory. ●Factory tour The wooden factory, a designated cultural asset used for over 100 years since Meiji era, is worth visiting. ●Soy sauce making You can try the soy sauce straining to make your own soy sauce. A simplified reproduction of the soy sauce making process enables you to deepen your knowledge about Japanese cuisine and Japanese culture. You can take your own bottle of strained and heat-treated soy sauce home with you at a room temperature as a souvenir. ●Soy sauce tasting Dip the Tofu into different types of soy sauce, taste and compare their differences. ●Souvenir to take home A bottle (100ml) of heated-treated soy sauce.
